Weekly Wishes #26

July 22, 2014 by Emily 6 Comments

This morning, I left home (DC) for Atlanta on a 7am flight for a work meeting. Three hours ago I was already back home on my couch! Needless to say, it has been a long day of travel, so this will be short and sweet.

Each week, I link up with The Nectar Collective to join the community of bloggers who share their goals for the week. I’m continuing to update my goals for the entire month of July rather than having a new set of goals each week. Right now, thinking about my to-dos in this big picture format has been working the best for me. I’m consider changing the format up yet again sometime soon to give updates only twice a month because they are obviously repetitive, and I think reporting updates on the same goals four times a month is a bit excessive.

Weekly Wishes #25

July 15, 2014 by Emily 5 Comments

Each week, I link up with The Nectar Collective to join the community of bloggers who share their goals for the week. I’m continuing to update my goals for the entire month of July rather than having a new set of goals each week. Right now, thinking about my to-dos in this big picture format has been working the best for me.

Sometimes I wonder why I post these goals updates, but then I remember how much I am motivated by reading other people’s goals, and I also think about the encouragement I have gotten from doing this link-up. For these reasons, I definitely want to continue doing these posts, at least for the time being. I don’t expect that most people would like reading goals updates, but that’s okay!

June is over. Actually, we are almost halfway through July! I’m going to join the rest of the world (again) by saying that I am in shock how quickly 2014 is going. Life, won’t you slow down already? Book The Memory Keeper’s Daughter by Kim Edwards I was able to read three books in June…. continue reading

Weekly Wishes #24 and SCSBC 2014 Book Challenge: Month 2

July 8, 2014 by Emily 2 Comments

I’m back from my trip to Galveston Island, Texas with my sisters. I had almost more airline delays than I could handle in this one little trip, but I had a blast with my sisters! Galveston is such a cute, historical island for exploring and relaxing – the perfect getaway for the holiday weekend. This… continue reading

Saturday Daniel and I took a day trip to Annapolis, MD that involved browsing shops, ice cream,… continue reading

The Sunday Currently, Volume 30

June 22, 2014 by Emily 4 Comments

Happy Summer! While summer is not typically one of my favorite seasons, there are so many things about it that I really enjoy: bright colors, pool time, vacations, summer reads, sundresses, cold drinks, etc. We celebrated summer by eating crepes for Saturday brunch at a French cafe in Old Town, attending a going away party… continue reading

The Sunday Currently, Volume 29

June 16, 2014 by Emily 2 Comments

Whew! What a weekend! Thursday through Saturday I was preparing for and celebrating my friend Shannon’s wedding. Today we had a great time hanging out with Daniel’s family and celebrating Father’s Day. I’m currently collapsed in bed at Daniel’s parents house for our last night in Texas, and I’m very happy and very, very tired. Currently… … continue reading

June 9, 2014 by Emily 1 Comment

I’m not going to do a Weekly Wishes post this week since I’m in Texas spending time with friends and family and because I didn’t set any week goals last week. In place of my usual Weekly Wishes post, I thought it was about time I do my first check in the for summer book… continue reading

And, just like that, we are back from Europe! We are tired but so happy to have experienced such an amazing trip together.
