Am I really writing a year-in-review post again already? I can’t believe it. 2014 had ups and downs, but it was mostly full of good. 🙂 Here is a quick re-cap of the memorable moments from each month.

January

We took a quick weekend trip with my cousin Josh and his wife Meredith to Philadelphia.

BIRU-WP-158.jpeg

We experienced the first of many early 2014 snowstorms in Northern Virginia.

February

After a really stressful two-week work trip to Memphis, TN, and after not being able to make it back in time for my husband’s birthday, we celebrated both Valentine’s Day and Daniel’s birthday with tapas and a movie in downtown DC. Excuse the terrible picture quality, but this is the only image we have from that night….

BIRU-WP-195.jpeg

We experienced a lot more snow….

March

We attended a great conference at our church focused on living out your faith through your work. It was called the Blue Conference.

BIRU-WP-163.jpeg

April

The cherry blossoms bloomed in DC, and the weather was gorgeous for (mostly) the whole month.

This beautiful photo was taken by my husband on his phone!

We saw Dave Barnes at the Hamilton Live, a fun venue in DC.

BIRU-WP-166.jpeg

We went to our first (and only) Washington Nationals game.

BIRU-WP-168.jpeg

I made a house cake with my friend Amanda for Lauren and Dave’s housewarming party.

May

We went on our biggest trip of the year: London & Paris! (See my posts here, here, here, and here. I never did finish my Paris posts. 🙁 Maybe I will in the new year!)

Versailles – a day trip during the Paris part of our vacation

A week after returning from Europe, we went to Charleston, SC with our friends Kaitlin & Erik.

BIRU-WP-171.jpeg

And somehow, we squeezed in a quick night of camping this month too….

BIRU-WP-172.jpeg

June

I went to my parents’ house in Texas for a week and then Daniel joined me in Texas for our good friend Shannon’s wedding weekend.

Daniel and I took a day trip to Annapolis, MD and went on a sailboat.

BIRU-WP-175.jpeg

July

I went back to Texas to celebrate my sisters’ graduations with a trip to Galveston. Daniel hiked part of the Appalachian Trail while I was gone.

BIRU-WP-176.jpeg

We spent a weekend in Gettysburg.

BIRU-WP-177.jpeg

We went to visit Josh and Meredith and explored Raleigh.

BIRU-WP-178.jpeg

August

We traveled to St. Petersburg, FL to spend time with Daniel’s aunt and grandma.

BIRU-WP-179.jpeg

September

This was another crazy month for work, but we managed to sneak in a long weekend in the Outer Banks with Josh & Meredith.

BIRU-WP-180.jpeg

BIRU-WP-181.jpeg

We discovered a new favorite book store (Politics & Prose).

BIRU-WP-182.jpeg

October

I thoroughly enjoyed my last real fall. (We recently moved back to Texas where fall is nonexistent.)

BIRU-WP-183.jpeg

We went back to Texas for my cousin Matt’s wedding where we saw lots of family members.

BIRU-WP-184.jpeg

Daniel’s parents came to visit, and we did the Alzheimer’s walk in honor of Daniel’s Abuela.

BIRU-WP-185.jpeg

November

We visited a gorgeous Virginian winery with Kaitlin & Erik.

BIRU-WP-186.jpeg

After a work training near Chicago, Daniel joined me for a weekend in the Windy City.

BIRU-WP-187.jpeg

We took a long weekend trip to Vermont which again reaffirmed our love of New England.

BIRU-WP-188.jpeg

For Thanksgiving, my family traveled to Harpers Ferry (which was close to us in DC).

BIRU-WP-189.jpeg

We went to Ford’s Theater for A Christmas Carol.

BIRU-WP-190.jpeg

December

We experienced Christmastime in NYC.

BIRU-WP-191.jpeg

And then the packing for our move back to Texas began…. Banana was not much of a helper….

BIRU-WP-192.jpeg

We spent one last day in Old Town Alexandria for the Old Town Candlelight Tour with Kaitlin & Erik.

BIRU-WP-193.jpeg

After a two day drive back to Texas, we spent time with my family in Waco and then spent Christmas with Daniel’s family in San Antonio.

2014 will end with a move into our new apartment in Austin!!

What a great year with family and friends! I cannot wait to see what a new year in a new city working in a new office brings. Here’s to 2015!
